I am trying to compare the realistic costs of getting plastic surgery in Korea vs. staying in my home country (USA). I understand that Korean surgery prices can be lower, but when you factor in flights, accommodation, time off work, and potential follow-ups, does it still make financial sense? Can anyone share actual total costs they spent for a procedure in Korea including all travel expenses? Also, are there hidden costs I should be aware of? Korea can be cheaper even all-in, but it depends on the procedure. The surgery itself is often 30–60% less than US prices, which easily absorbs flights and a 1–2 week stay for bigger procedures; for small treatments the travel cost can erase the savings. Build a realistic total: surgery + anesthesia, flights, 1–3 weeks lodging, local transport/food, medications and aftercare, and a contingency for a touch-up or extended stay. Watch for add-ons sometimes quoted separately (anesthesia type, implant material upgrades, post-op care, VAT). Some clinics offer international-patient packages bundling aftercare and lodging — useful, but compare the bundled price against itemized quotes. Get the full quote in writing before committing.
